new Material
Small changes to the materials help highlight the powerful color story. Initially part of a larger collection, only this SKU moved forward for production. It still carries the best details from the Paradise Camo collection. I picked the tongue material and developed the tongue webbing.
Urban Texture
I communicated limitations to color design for the suede and tongue material. Suede has problems with color migration. The tongue and heel material are Ariaprene neoprene. Ariaprene foam has a limited color palette.
Collision Course
SS20 had a number of projects not make it to the confirmation round. The team wanted to carry these details forward in one shoe. Collision Course is literally a collision of details from all the packs. I advised on sublimation materials, modified the laces, and coordinated material map details.
WABI SABI
The design brief requested a Tyvek or wrinkled paper-like woven vamp material. I developed many trial material options with the footwear developer. In the end, we returned to the spacer mesh because of fit concerns.
